Bill Title: Corrections matters. Eliminates the community transition program. Removes the requirement for the department of correction (IDOC) to provide a yearly report outlining the operational cost savings from the implementation of HEA 1006-2014. Removes the requirement for IDOC to provide a monthly report on population snapshots, admissions, and release trends. Eliminates the boot camp for youthful offenders program. Provides that when a person imprisoned for a felony completes the person's fixed term of imprisonment, less the credit time the person has earned with respect to that term, the person shall be as soon as practicable, but not later than five business days, released on parole, discharged, or released to the committing court if the sentence included a period of probation.
