Synopsis: Parking placards. Requires that a parking placard issued by
the bureau of motor vehicles to an individual with a physical disability
must contain the final four digits of the unique identification number
displayed on the individual's driver's license or identification card.
Makes it a Class C misdemeanor for a person other than the person to
whom a parking placard is issued to use the parking placard to park in
a parking space for persons with physical disabilities.
Effective: July 1, 2011.

A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
motor vehicles.
(1) The words "Parking Permit for Persons with Physical Disabilities".
(2) An expiration date.
(3) The final four (4) digits of the unique identification number displayed on:
(A) the driver's license of; or
(B) the identification card issued under IC 9-24-16 to;
the individual to whom the placard is issued.
(b) A person who recklessly, knowingly, or intentionally:
(1) uses a placard issued under this chapter to park in a
parking space reserved for persons with physical disabilities;
and
(2) does not possess a driver's license or identification card
issued under IC 9-24-16 on which is displayed a unique
identification number that matches the digits printed on the
placard under section 3(3) of this chapter;
commits a Class C misdemeanor.
