A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
education.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SECTION 1. IC 21-43-4-13, AS ADDED BY P.L.2-2007,
SECTION 284, IS AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS
[EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2010]: Sec. 13. (a) If a student enrolls in a
course offered by an eligible institution under the program, the eligible
institution and the student's school corporation shall enter into a
contract for dual credit. The contract must establish the terms and
conditions under which:
(1) the eligible institution will award credit for specified classes
successfully completed by students in the school corporation; and
(2) the school corporation will award credit for specified classes
successfully completed by students at the eligible institution.
(b) If a student enrolls in a course offered by a state educational
institution under the program, the state educational institution and
the student's school corporation shall enter into a contract for dual
credit that provides for the course to be included in the core
transfer library under IC 21-42-5-4. The contract must establish
the terms and conditions under which:
(1) any state educational institution will award credit for
specified courses successfully completed by students in the
school corporation; and
(2) the school corporation will award credit for specified
courses successfully completed by students at any state
educational institution.

SECTION 2. IC 21-43-4-15, AS ADDED BY P.L.2-2007,
SECTION 284, IS AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS
[EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2010]: Sec. 15.
(a) If a student enrolls in an
eligible institution after graduation from secondary school, the eligible
institution shall award postsecondary credit for a course successfully
completed by the student at the eligible institution. If the student
enrolls in another eligible institution, that eligible institution may grant
credit for courses successfully completed by the student.
(b) If a student enrolls in a state educational institution after
graduation from secondary school, the state educational institution
shall award postsecondary credit for a course successfully
completed by the student under the program at any state
educational institution under section 13 of this chapter.
