Synopsis: Method of payment for certain public assistance recipients. Requires the auditor of state to allow payment by warrant instead of direct deposit by electronic funds transfer for certain recipients of the federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program who are participating in the Indiana manpower and comprehensive training (IMPACT) program and who request to be paid by warrant.

HOUSE BILL No. 1243



    A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning state offices and administration.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SOURCE: IC 4-7-1-18; (10)IN1243.1.1. -->     SECTION 1. IC 4-7-1-18 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE UPON PASSAGE]: Sec. 18. If a recipient of assistance under the federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program who is participating in the Indiana manpower and comprehensive training (IMPACT) program seeks reimbursement for expenses related to seeking employment in order to maintain TANF eligibility and requests to be paid by warrant, the auditor of state shall allow the recipient to receive payment by warrant instead of direct deposit by electronic funds transfer.
