Synopsis: College credit for high school classes. Requires each high school to offer a number of dual credit and advanced placement courses sufficient to allow a student who qualifies to enroll in the courses to complete at least one year of college credit.

    A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning education.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SOURCE: IC 20-30-10-4; (10)IN1184.1.1. -->     SECTION 1. IC 20-30-10-4, AS ADDED BY P.L.185-2006, SECTION 9, IS AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2010]: Sec. 4. (a) This subsection applies before July 1, 2015. Each high school must provide at least two (2) of each of the following course offerings to high school students who qualify to enroll in the courses:
        (1) Dual credit.
        (2) Advanced placement.
     (b) This subsection applies after June 30, 2015. Each high school must provide a number of the following courses sufficient to allow a student who qualifies to enroll in the courses to complete at least one (1) year of college credit:
        (1) Dual credit.
        (2) Advanced placement.
