Synopsis: Improper operation of a riding lawn mower. Provides that it is a Class C infraction for a person to operate a riding lawn mower with a person less than 12 years of age riding on the riding lawn mower. Provides that it is a Class C misdemeanor for a person to knowingly or intentionally allow a person less than 12 years of age to operate a riding lawn mower.

Effective: July 1, 2012.

HOUSE BILL No. 1094



    A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning criminal law and procedure.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SOURCE: IC 35-46-5-5; (12)IN1094.1.1. -->     SECTION 1. IC 35-46-5-5 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2012]: Sec. 5. (a) A person who operates a riding lawn mower while a person less than twelve (12) years of age is riding on the lawn mower commits improper operation of a riding lawn mower, a Class C infraction.
     (b) A person who knowingly or intentionally allows a person less than twelve (12) years of age to operate a riding lawn mower commits improper permission to operate a riding lawn mower, a Class C misdemeanor.
