SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Hiram Wurf, who passed away on September
23, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Hiram Wurf was born in New York on January 30,
1970 to Helen and Harold Wurf; he was raised by Robert and
Jeannine DuBois; he graduated from Rutgers University in New
Jersey, and went on to attend graduate school at Northern
Illinois University in DeKalb; and
WHEREAS, Hiram Wurf was passionate about politics and
strived to make a social change for people; he is remembered as
a lovely soul; and
WHEREAS, Hiram Wurf was preceded in death by Helen and
Harold Wurf; and
WHEREAS, Hiram Wurf is survived by his wife, Amy; his
children, Megan and Joel; his parents, Robert and Jeannine; his
siblings, Avram Wurf, Sophie (Jason) Plante, Dimitrios Hilton,
Miriam (Chris Mayer) DuBois, David (Mary Ann Swerdfeger)
DuBois, and Jenny (Brian) Kotmel; his aunt, Ruth Wurf; his
mother-in-law and father-in-law, Darrell and Kay Erickson; his
numerous nieces, nephews, and other family; his dear friends,

Kunal Pujara, Ajay Israni, Rob Freedman, and Doug Henk; and
other friends and colleagues; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Hiram Wurf, and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Hiram Wurf as an expression of our
deepest sympathy.
