| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Dean Robinson of Moline, who passed away | ||||||
| 4 | on October 28, 2016; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Dean Robinson was born on June 23, 1933 in | ||||||
| 6 | Welling, Oklahoma; his parents were David and Hattie Griffith | ||||||
| 7 | Robinson; he married Daisy Marshall on July 29, 1950 in | ||||||
| 8 | Princeton, Iowa; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Dean Robinson was a Korean War veteran and a | ||||||
| 10 | member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1975 of Port Byron; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Dean Robinson worked as an installer in the | ||||||
| 12 | floor-covering industry for many years; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Dean Robinson was a musician; he played the | ||||||
| 14 | upright bass, guitar, and mandolin; he enjoyed country and | ||||||
| 15 | bluegrass music; he traveled across the country, mainly in the | ||||||
| 16 | Southwest, and once played at the Grand Ole Opry and got to use | ||||||
| 17 | Charlie Pride's dressing room; he also enjoyed watching | ||||||
| 18 | football on Sundays and woodworking; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Dean Robinson was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 20 | parents; his wife, Daisy; and his siblings, Freeda Ryker, | ||||||

| 1 | Marvin Robinson, and Calvin Robinson; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Dean Robinson is survived by his children, James | ||||||
| 3 | Robinson, Cynthia (Larry) Marlow, Gayleen (Mitch) Callihan, | ||||||
| 4 | and Pamela Langley; nine grandchildren; nine | ||||||
| 5 | great-grandchildren; his brother, Donald (Pam) Robinson; his | ||||||
| 6 | sisters, Judith Latta and Linda (Robert) Poor; many nephews and | ||||||
| 7 | nieces; and his special niece, Lesa Ahrens; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 9 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
| 10 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Dean Robinson; and be | ||||||
| 11 | it further
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 13 | presented to the family of Dean Robinson as an expression of | ||||||
| 14 | our sympathy.
