SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Andrew "Andy" Grom of Libertyville, who
4passed away on October 25, 2018; and
5 WHEREAS, Andy Grom was born in Waukegan to Philip and Rose
6Grom on December 30, 1959; he graduated from Waukegan West High
7School in 1978 and the University of Kansas; he lived for 29
8years in Winthrop Harbor; and
9 WHEREAS, Andy Grom was a former employee of Abbott
10Laboratories and spent many years consulting in the
11pharmaceutical industry; and
12 WHEREAS, Andy Grom enjoyed golf; he was an Evans Scholar
13and a member of the K.S.K.J. Slovenian organization; he was an
14avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and the Chicago
15Blackhawks; his favorite places were the golf course and the
16white sand beaches of Florida; and
17 WHEREAS, Andy Grom was preceded in death by his parents;
18his brother, Timothy; his father-in-law, Michael E. Mintern;
19and his brother-in-law, Michael S. Mintern; and
20 WHEREAS, Andy Grom is survived by his wife of 32 years,

1Wendy (Mintern) Grom; his son, Brandon Grom; his sisters, Peggy
2(Marty) Alexonis and Pat (Dave) Pitts; his brothers, Philip
3(Becky), James (Debi), and Edward Grom; his mother-in-law,
4Shirley Mintern; his brother-in-law, Todd (Cathy) Mintern; his
5sisters-in-law, Wanda Rottmann and Sally Mintern; his dear
6friends, Rob and Julie Hopkins; and many aunts, uncles, and
7cousins; therefore, be it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Andrew "Andy" Grom and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
13 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Andy Grom as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
