2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Dale L. Buhs of Bunker Hill, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on November 11, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Dale Buhs was born in Bunker Hill to Fred and | ||||||
6 | Olivia (Brenker) Buhs on September 13, 1924; he married Ella | ||||||
7 | "Pam" Paoni on July 13, 1973; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Dale Buhs worked as a fork lift operator at Olin | ||||||
9 | for over 40 years; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Dale Buhs was a lifelong member of the Zion | ||||||
11 | Lutheran Church of Bunker Hill; he was a member of the VFW Post | ||||||
12 | 4547 of Gillespie, the American Legion of Bunker Hill, and AARP | ||||||
13 | of Bunker Hill; he was a member of the Bunker Hill Fire | ||||||
14 | Department for 31 years; he was also a caretaker of the Bunker | ||||||
15 | Hill Cemetery and a 50-year Machinist Union Local 660 member; | ||||||
16 | he enjoyed gardening and boating with family and friends; and

17 | WHEREAS, Dale Buhs was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
18 | his wife, Pam; his daughter, Cindy Buhs; his stepdaughter, | ||||||
19 | Brenda Grissom; his stepson, Jimmy Pruitt; six of his | ||||||
20 | grandchildren; his brothers, Alfred Buhs, Lewis Buhs, and | ||||||
21 | Willis Buhs; and his sisters, Velma Cochran and Clara Duelm; |

2 | WHEREAS, Dale Buhs is survived by his daughter, Vicki | ||||||
3 | (Richard) Elliott; his stepchildren, Pam (Larry) Grove, Karen | ||||||
4 | (Melvin) Caldwell, Mike Pruitt, Ben (Denise) Pruitt, and | ||||||
5 | William (Peggy) Pruitt; his 18 grandchildren; and his 40 | ||||||
6 | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
9 | Dale L. Buhs and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | ||||||
10 | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
12 | presented to the family of Dale Buhs as an expression of our | ||||||
13 | deepest sympathy.
