SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Larry W. Stranz of Bartonville, who
4passed away on June 16, 2018; and
5 WHEREAS, Larry Stranz was born in Peoria County to Wilbur
6J. and Mayme (Pedze) Stranz on September 11, 1939; he graduated
7from Limestone Community High School and attended Bradley
8University; he married Patricia Seffer in Peoria on October 6,
91962; and
10 WHEREAS, Larry Stranz worked as an electrician at Keystone
11Steel and Wire Company and at Hiram Walker Distillery; he last
12worked as the facilities manager for the Peoria County
13Courthouse and retired in 2001; and
14 WHEREAS, Larry Stranz was a member of the IBEW Electricians
15Union and a former board member of the Peoria Airport Authority
16and Springdale Cemetery; he was a member of St. Anthony
17Catholic Church; he was very involved within Limestone Township
18and Limestone Community High School, where he was a scorekeeper
19and coach for over 50 years; he was a three-time inductee of
20the Limestone Sports Hall of Fame and a recipient of the Neve
21Harms Meritorious Service to Sports Award in the Greater Peoria
22Sports Hall of Fame; an avid sports fan, he enjoyed attending

1his grandchildren's games and cheering on the Chicago Cubs and
2Chicago Bears; and
3 WHEREAS, Larry Stranz was preceded in death by his parents
4and his sister, Lois Mae Mason; and
5 WHEREAS, Larry Stranz is survived by his wife, Patricia;
6his daughters, Christine Williams and Deana Stranz; his
7grandchildren, Madison, Brody, Brayden, Bryson, and McKenna
8Williams; his sister, Loraine (Duane) Schleder; his niece
9Mardee (Tom Flaherty) Mason; and his nephew, Lonn Schleder;
10therefore, be it
11 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Larry W. Stranz and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
16 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Larry Stranz as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
