SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of John L. Criswell of Tilton, who passed
away on November 7, 2018; and
WHEREAS, John Criswell was born in Danville to Ross and
Betty Bohem Criswell on August 27, 1940; he graduated from
Stockland High School and served in the U.S. Army during the
Vietnam War; he married Elizabeth June Clark in Georgetown on
June 27, 1964; and
WHEREAS, John Criswell was a machinist at Hyster for 36
years, where he served on the activities committee; he also
served on the Vermilion County Board and with the Tilton
Volunteer Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, John Criswell was a member of the Fairmount
Conservation Club and Westville American Legion Post 51; he
enjoyed his pets and working on and showing his John Deere
tractor; he especially loved going to VIPS to have breakfast
everyday with his friends; and
WHEREAS, John Criswell is survived by his wife, Elizabeth;
his daughters, Brenda (Robert) Finley and Luchawna Simmons; his
grandchildren, Michael Finley, Johnna Simmons, Jeffrey Simmons

Jr., and Dakota Finley; and his great-grandchild, Kaylynn
Finley; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
John L. Criswell and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of John Criswell as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
