2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of John L. Criswell of Tilton, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on November 7, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, John Criswell was born in Danville to Ross and | ||||||
6 | Betty Bohem Criswell on August 27, 1940; he graduated from | ||||||
7 | Stockland High School and served in the U.S. Army during the | ||||||
8 | Vietnam War; he married Elizabeth June Clark in Georgetown on | ||||||
9 | June 27, 1964; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, John Criswell was a machinist at Hyster for 36 | ||||||
11 | years, where he served on the activities committee; he also | ||||||
12 | served on the Vermilion County Board and with the Tilton | ||||||
13 | Volunteer Fire Department; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, John Criswell was a member of the Fairmount | ||||||
15 | Conservation Club and Westville American Legion Post 51; he | ||||||
16 | enjoyed his pets and working on and showing his John Deere | ||||||
17 | tractor; he especially loved going to VIPS to have breakfast | ||||||
18 | everyday with his friends; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, John Criswell is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; | ||||||
20 | his daughters, Brenda (Robert) Finley and Luchawna Simmons; his | ||||||
21 | grandchildren, Michael Finley, Johnna Simmons, Jeffrey Simmons |

1 | Jr., and Dakota Finley; and his great-grandchild, Kaylynn | ||||||
2 | Finley; therefore, be it

3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
5 | John L. Criswell and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
6 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
7 | further
| ||||||
8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
9 | presented to the family of John Criswell as an expression of | ||||||
10 | our deepest sympathy.
