| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Dr. Brent Michael Leh of Edwardsville, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on October 6, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Dr. Leh was born in St. Louis, Missouri on August | ||||||
6 | 3, 1986; he graduated from Edwardsville High School, where he | ||||||
7 | was known for his friendliness and leadership and was captain | ||||||
8 | of the wrestling team; he completed his undergraduate work at | ||||||
9 | Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and received his | ||||||
10 | Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with honors from the | ||||||
11 | University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in May | ||||||
12 | 2012; and

13 | WHEREAS, Immediately after graduation, Dr. Leh joined the | ||||||
14 | staff at Hawthorne Animal Hospital, which was founded by his | ||||||
15 | grandfather; he specialized in emergency, critical care | ||||||
16 | medicine and was known for his enthusiasm in providing | ||||||
17 | compassionate care for companion animals and their families; | ||||||
18 | and

19 | WHEREAS, Dr. Leh served as a volunteer wrestling coach; he | ||||||
20 | enjoyed combat sports, boating, motorcycling, traveling, and | ||||||
21 | classic cars; he had an infectious smile; through his gift of | ||||||
22 | organ donation, five lives have been saved; and

2 | Richard J. Leh; and

3 | WHEREAS, Dr. Leh is survived by his parents, Ann (Michael) | ||||||
4 | Culp and Richard J. Leh Jr.; his brother, Richard J. (Laura) | ||||||
5 | Leh III; his niece, Devyn Anne; his step-siblings, Bethany C. | ||||||
6 | (Eric) Paulsen, Benjamin M. (Megan) Culp, Nathanial M. (Pamela) | ||||||
7 | Culp, and Gregory Culp; his nieces and nephews, Emmet Paulsen, | ||||||
8 | Julia, Wesley, and Owen Culp, and Clayton Culp; his | ||||||
9 | grandparents Merrill and Grace Ottwein, Donna Ross, and Ethel | ||||||
10 | Leh; his aunts and uncles, Amy (Keith) Zagar, Paul (Amber) | ||||||

16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
18 | Dr. Brent Michael Leh and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
19 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
20 | further

21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
22 | presented to the family of Dr. Leh as an expression of our |
