| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of John R. Charles Sr. of Waukegan, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on October 9, 2018; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, John Charles Sr. joined the United States Navy at | ||||||
| 6 | the age of 16 and served for four years; he married Patricia at | ||||||
| 7 | the Mother of God Roman Catholic Church in Waukegan on May 15, | ||||||
| 8 | 1955; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, John Charles Sr. retired from the U.S. Postal | ||||||
| 10 | Service in Lake Bluff; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, John Charles Sr. was a former parishioner of | ||||||
| 12 | Mother of God Church and a current parishioner at St. Dismas | ||||||
| 13 | Church; he was a member of the Knights of Columbus; in his free | ||||||
| 14 | time, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, and hosting events for | ||||||
| 15 | family and friends; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, John Charles Sr. was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 17 | parents, Dode and Evelyn Charles, and his siblings, Paul, Dode, | ||||||
| 18 | Betty, and Rosemary; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, John Charles Sr. is survived by his wife, | ||||||
| 20 | Patricia; his children, John R. (Lynette) Charles Jr., Michael | ||||||

| 1 | F. Charles, and Kay (Ken) Stoinski; his grandchildren, Kelsey, | ||||||
| 2 | Andrew, and Joshua; and his siblings, Frank (Rosemary) Charles | ||||||
| 3 | and Madeline Peters; therefore, be it

| 4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 6 | John R. Charles Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 7 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
