SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John Kenealy, who passed away on August
417, 2018 at the age of 26; and
5 WHEREAS, John Kenealy was born to David and Janet Kenealy
6on January 25, 1992; he participated in youth sports and Boy
7Scouts before graduating from Oak Park and River Forest High
8School and studying business at Elmhurst College; after
9graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he
10served as a specialist and a vehicle commander in the Attack
11Company of the 4th Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, with whom
12he was deployed to Afghanistan; he married Rachel Wanhala on
13October 4, 2017; and
14 WHEREAS, John Kenealy was an avid hobbyist, an expert
15marksman and a talented cook; he loved animals; he will be
16remembered for his gentle nature, his constant humor, the
17strength of his will, and his curiosity about the world; his
18compassion and playfulness endure in the lives of his family
19and friends; and
20 WHEREAS, John Kenealy is survived by his wife, Rachel; his
21parents; his sister, Anne and her partner, Victoria; his
22grandmother, Virginia; his aunts and uncles, John and Betty

1Lyon, Kathryn and Bob Mann, Fran and Jim Manos, Phil Kenealy,
2and Eric and Laurie Kenealy; and his cousins, Bill and Kellie

4Kenealy; therefore, be it
5 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7John Kenealy and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
8friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of John Kenealy as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
