| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Loyal Lewis Tullius of Port Byron, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on September 3, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Loyal Tullius was born in Arcadia, Wisconsin to | ||||||
6 | Loyal and Irene (Hofland) Tullius on April 3, 1943; he served | ||||||
7 | in the United States Army during the Vietnam War; he married | ||||||
8 | Karen Pannell in Eagan, Minnesota on June 24, 1989; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Loyal Tullius was a businessman with a passion to | ||||||
10 | create and a desire to help people; after years of working in | ||||||
11 | sales and management for other companies, he decided to start | ||||||
12 | his own business, Custom Appearance, in Davenport, Iowa in | ||||||
13 | 1977; after moving to Minnesota with his wife, his dream grew | ||||||
14 | even larger, and they opened Stampede Products, an automotive | ||||||
15 | aftermarket manufacturing company; he always treasured the | ||||||
16 | fact that the business allowed them to make friends all over | ||||||
17 | the world; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Loyal Tullius was Chairman of the Scouting Clays | ||||||
19 | Classic for 21 years and helped raise money for local Boy Scout | ||||||
20 | chapters; he was also President of the Bi-State's Sportsman's | ||||||
21 | Association; he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, and fishing; | ||||||
22 | he loved his wife, his family, and his many Golden Labradors |

1 | that shared the name Honey; and
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, Loyal Tullius was preceded in death by his | ||||||
3 | parents; his grandson, Joseph Dreifurst; and his | ||||||
4 | great-grandson, Christopher Bunch; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Loyal Tullius is survived by his wife, Karen; his | ||||||
6 | daughters, Denise (Larry) Dreifurst and Debra (Stan) Holdampf; | ||||||
7 | his siblings, Glen Tullius and Beverly (Dean) Harms; his | ||||||
8 | stepbrothers, Dean, Darvin, Dale, and David Petersen; his | ||||||
9 | grandchildren, Destiny (Jared) Maynard, Lisa Dreifurst, Amber | ||||||
10 | (Chad) Herzmann, William (Ashley) Pratt, Nicole (Jodi) Wells, | ||||||
11 | and Nolan Sanquist; his seven great-grandchildren; his two | ||||||
12 | nieces; and his nephew; therefore, be it

13 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
14 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
15 | Loyal Lewis Tullius and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
16 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
17 | further

18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
19 | presented to the family of Loyal Tullius as an expression of | ||||||
20 | our deepest sympathy.
