SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Michael Leonard Rosinia, who passed away
4on February 10, 2018 at the age of 85; and
5 WHEREAS, Michael Rosinia was born in Chicago to Frank and
6Marie (Bocci) Rosinia on May 6, 1932; he graduated from St.
7Ignatius in 1949; and
8 WHEREAS, Michael Rosinia taught biology until he moved to
9New Orleans in 1982; he took pride in his career, including 50
10years of practicing dentistry and educating the young minds of
11Chicago and New Orleans; his time as a teacher invigorated him,
12and many of his students remember him well; and
13 WHEREAS, Michael Rosinia had a lifelong enthusiasm for
14knowledge, a love of the opera, jazz music, and any reason for
15a good time and great food; and
16 WHEREAS, Michael Rosinia was a loving father, grandfather,
17and friend to all; and
18 WHEREAS, Michael Rosinia is survived by his sister, Jeanine
19(John) Briatta; his children, Francis (Ninfa), Giselle
20(Stephen), Michael (Margaret), and David (Mary); and his

1grandchildren, Nicholas, Biagia, Gabrielle, Antonia, Victoria,
2and Wednesday; therefore, be it
3 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Michael Leonard Rosinia and extend our sincere condolences to
6his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Michael Rosinia as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
