SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Raymond Lewis "Ray" Hoselton of Chenoa,
4who passed away on August 24, 2018; and
5 WHEREAS, Ray Hoselton was born in Fairbury to Clarence T.
6and Marcella (Friederich) Hoselton on March 27, 1943; he
7graduated from Chenoa High School in 1961; he then played
8football at the University of Illinois from 1961 until 1962; he
9married Sharon Cottrell at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in
10Chenoa on July 25, 1964; he later played semi-professional
11football for the Twin City Trojans from 1968 until 1970; and
12 WHEREAS, Ray Hoselton was the owner and operator of the
13family business, Union Roofing, Inc., Chenoa; and
14 WHEREAS, Ray Hoselton was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic
15Church in Chenoa, the Knights of Columbus, the Chenoa Jaycees,
16and the Pontiac Elks Club; he was supportive of his children
17and grandchildren's sporting events; he was an avid golfer; and
18 WHEREAS, Ray Hoselton was preceded in death by his wife,
19Sharon; his parents; his brothers, Ted and Stan Hoselton; and
20his sister, Marcella Oltman; and

1 WHEREAS, Ray Hoselton is survived by his children, Rod
2(Mari Lynn) Hoselton, Stacie (Bill) Casner, Doug (Renee)
3Hoselton, Jeff (Traci) Hoselton, and Suzanne Hoselton; his
4grandchildren, Andy, Brad, Brooke, Katie, Billy, Claire,
5Addison, Connor, Riley, Drew, Sydney, Brandon, Lauren, Chloe,
6Josh, and Brock; his eight great-grandchildren; and his many
7nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Raymond Lewis "Ray" Hoselton and extend our sincere condolences
11to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
12it further
13 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Ray Hoselton as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
