SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Nola Bea (Crotchett) Campbell of
4Jerseyville, who passed away on August 6, 2018; and
5 WHEREAS, Nola Campbell was born in Jerseyville to Ross
6Millian and Enid Ione (Stringer) Crotchett on February 19,
71936; she grew up in Kane with her many siblings and graduated
8from Jersey Community High School in 1954, where she excelled
9in athletics; she earned an athletic scholarship to Illinois
10State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in
11Physical Education and English; she married Kenneth Eugene
12Campbell Sr. at the Kane Baptist Church on May 29, 1959; and
13 WHEREAS, Nola Campbell began her teaching career at Civic
14Memorial High School in Bethalto; she then taught physical
15education, coached softball and tennis, and served as the
16cheerleading and Girls Athletic Association sponsor at
17Carrollton Community High School for many years; she then
18accepted a position with the Jersey Community Unit 100 School
19District and served as a physical education and health teacher,
20as well as coach of the track and volleyball teams, at Illini
21Junior High School; she also created the Illini Junior High
22School Gymnastics Circus, an organization in which she took
23great pride; and

1 WHEREAS, Nola Campbell was a devoted member of the First
2Assembly of God in Jerseyville and was active in their Women's
3Ministry; she enjoyed following the St. Louis Cardinals, along
4with crafting and sewing; and
5 WHEREAS, Nola Campbell was preceded in death by her
6parents; her brother, Winston Crotchett and Darrell "Archie"
7Crotchett; her two siblings in infancy, Mary Jean and Michael;
8and her sister-in-law, Jane Campbell; and
9 WHEREAS, Nola Campbell is survived by her children and
10their spouses, Enid and Bill Kinkel; Kimberly and David
11Weishaupt, and Kenneth Jr. and Wendy Campbell; her
12grandchildren and their spouses, Whitney and Jeff Mullink,
13Merideth and Matt Springman, Kelsey and Brian Burns, Billy and
14Courtney Kinkel, Jordan and Ryan Geolat, Ian Campbell, and
15Riley Campbell; her great-grandchildren, Kyle and Ethan
16Mullink, Thor and Axel Springman, Lucy and Jack Burns, and
17Blakely and Brody Kinkel; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Meda
18and Wilbur Gowin and Lois and Richard Carr; her brothers and
19sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Esther Crotchett, Kentner and
20Naomi Crotchett, and James and Pamela Crotchett; her
21sisters-in-law, Carol Crotchett and Taunjai Crotchett; and her
22brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Darrell "Bill" and Mary Jane
23Campbell; therefore, be it

1 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Nola Bea (Crotchett) Campbell and extend our sincere
4condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
5her; and be it further
6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Nola Campbell as an expression of
8our deepest sympathy.
