2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Nola Bea (Crotchett) Campbell of | ||||||
4 | Jerseyville, who passed away on August 6, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Nola Campbell was born in Jerseyville to Ross | ||||||
6 | Millian and Enid Ione (Stringer) Crotchett on February 19, | ||||||
7 | 1936; she grew up in Kane with her many siblings and graduated | ||||||
8 | from Jersey Community High School in 1954, where she excelled | ||||||
9 | in athletics; she earned an athletic scholarship to Illinois | ||||||
10 | State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in | ||||||
11 | Physical Education and English; she married Kenneth Eugene | ||||||
12 | Campbell Sr. at the Kane Baptist Church on May 29, 1959; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Nola Campbell began her teaching career at Civic | ||||||
14 | Memorial High School in Bethalto; she then taught physical | ||||||
15 | education, coached softball and tennis, and served as the | ||||||
16 | cheerleading and Girls Athletic Association sponsor at | ||||||
17 | Carrollton Community High School for many years; she then | ||||||
18 | accepted a position with the Jersey Community Unit 100 School | ||||||
19 | District and served as a physical education and health teacher, | ||||||
20 | as well as coach of the track and volleyball teams, at Illini | ||||||
21 | Junior High School; she also created the Illini Junior High | ||||||
22 | School Gymnastics Circus, an organization in which she took | ||||||
23 | great pride; and

1 | WHEREAS, Nola Campbell was a devoted member of the First | ||||||
2 | Assembly of God in Jerseyville and was active in their Women's | ||||||
3 | Ministry; she enjoyed following the St. Louis Cardinals, along | ||||||
4 | with crafting and sewing; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Nola Campbell was preceded in death by her | ||||||
6 | parents; her brother, Winston Crotchett and Darrell "Archie" | ||||||
7 | Crotchett; her two siblings in infancy, Mary Jean and Michael; | ||||||
8 | and her sister-in-law, Jane Campbell; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Nola Campbell is survived by her children and | ||||||
10 | their spouses, Enid and Bill Kinkel; Kimberly and David | ||||||
11 | Weishaupt, and Kenneth Jr. and Wendy Campbell; her | ||||||
12 | grandchildren and their spouses, Whitney and Jeff Mullink, | ||||||
13 | Merideth and Matt Springman, Kelsey and Brian Burns, Billy and | ||||||
14 | Courtney Kinkel, Jordan and Ryan Geolat, Ian Campbell, and | ||||||
15 | Riley Campbell; her great-grandchildren, Kyle and Ethan | ||||||
16 | Mullink, Thor and Axel Springman, Lucy and Jack Burns, and | ||||||
17 | Blakely and Brody Kinkel; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Meda | ||||||
18 | and Wilbur Gowin and Lois and Richard Carr; her brothers and | ||||||
19 | sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Esther Crotchett, Kentner and | ||||||
20 | Naomi Crotchett, and James and Pamela Crotchett; her | ||||||
21 | sisters-in-law, Carol Crotchett and Taunjai Crotchett; and her | ||||||
22 | brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Darrell "Bill" and Mary Jane | ||||||
23 | Campbell; therefore, be it

1 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
3 | Nola Bea (Crotchett) Campbell and extend our sincere | ||||||
4 | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
5 | her; and be it further

6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented to the family of Nola Campbell as an expression of | ||||||
8 | our deepest sympathy.
