SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Anthony "Tony" Pintozzi Sr. of McHenry,
who passed away on August 6, 2018; and
WHEREAS, Tony Pintozzi was born to Charles and Maria
(Meccia) Pintozzi on February 24, 1931; he attended St. Rita of
Cascia High School and married Maureen Etten at St. Nicholas of
Tolentine in Chicago on November 29, 1952; and
WHEREAS, Tony Pintozzi was the founder of Pintz & Co.,
which later became International Decorators, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Tony Pintozzi was chairman of the Northern
Illinois Medical Board, president of the Painting & Decorating
Contractors Association of Northern Illinois, co-founder of
the Northern Illinois Painting & Drywall Institute, chairman of
the Painters District Council 30 Pension Fund, secretary of the
Painters District Council 30 Health & Welfare Fund, and
co-founder of the Finishing Contractors Association of
Illinois; he served on the St. Patrick/Montini Catholic School
Commission and was a St. Patrick Church lector; he was a member
of the McHenry County Regional School Board and the city of
McHenry Police Commissioner; he was also involved with Kiwanis,
a member of the McHenry Country Club, and coached little

league; and
WHEREAS, Tony Pintozzi was dedicated to his Catholic faith
and his family and was extremely proud of his Italian heritage;
he enjoyed golf, spending time with his family at the cabin on
Plum Lake in the Northwoods, and driving around town in his
white car enjoying his pipe; and
WHEREAS, Tony Pintozzi was preceded in death by his
parents; his in-laws, Joseph and Mary Etten; and his
sister-in-law, Marcella (Wayne) Dixon; and
WHEREAS, Tony Pintozzi is survived by his wife of 65 years,
Maureen; his children, Mary (Jon) Meyer, Debbie (Michael)
Cajthaml, Donna (Buzz) Frett, Maureen (Mike) Pabst, Annette
(Steve) Cuda, Cathy (Tom) Campbell, Patti (Bill) Preston, and
Butch (Missy) Pintozzi; his grandchildren, Stephanie (Jovan)
Strumberger, Bryan (Joy Anna) Meyer, Michael (Ashley)
Cajthaml, Christopher Frett, Jaci (Matt) Hartman, Tom (Abbey)
Pabst, Dan (Becky) Pabst, Elizabeth (Jake) Smith, Maria (Kevin)
Hill, Katie Cuda, Jeff Campbell, Matt (Becca) Campbell,
Christine Campbell, Sara (Pat) McDonald, Marguerite Preston,
Joe (Erin) Pintozzi, Mary (Luke) Naidicz, and Olivia Pintozzi;
16 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Anne Marie (George)
Cina, Charles (Rose Marie) Pintozzi, and Nick (Connie)
Pintozzi; and his brother-in-law, Joe (Jean) Etten; therefore,

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Anthony "Tony" Pintozzi Sr., and extend our sincere condolences
to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Tony Pintozzi as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
