2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Edward "Ed" Walkowicz of East Moline, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on July 14, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Ed Walkowicz was born in New York City to Michael | ||||||
6 | and Margaret (Sozanski) Walkowicz on October 14, 1936; he | ||||||
7 | served in the United States Marine Corps; he married Christine | ||||||
8 | Ippen in Rockford on May 2, 1964; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Ed Walkowicz worked in sales for Quaker Oats for | ||||||
10 | 28 years, Hormel Foods for five years, and Hershey for over 11 | ||||||
11 | years; he retired at the age of 78; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Ed Walkowicz enjoyed traveling with his wife as | ||||||
13 | she judged dog shows; they visited a total of 27 countries, but | ||||||
14 | his favorite destination was Hawaii, where they celebrated | ||||||
15 | their 50th wedding anniversary with the entire family; he was | ||||||
16 | an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Ed Walkowicz was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
18 | and his brother, George Walkowitz; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Ed Walkowicz is survived by his wife, Christine; | ||||||
20 | his children, Edward "Dean" Walkowicz, Teresa "Terri" |

2 | (Leslie) Walkowicz; his grandchildren, Lauryn, Michael, and | ||||||

5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
7 | Edward "Ed" Walkowicz and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
8 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
