SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Van Cybulski, who passed away on July 13,
2018; and
WHEREAS, Van Cybulski was born in Poland to Walter and
Wladyslawa Cybulski on October 29, 1932; as the events leading
to World War II began to unfold, his family immigrated to
Mexico and eventually the U.S.; he attended Holy Rosary and
Waukegan Township High School; he joined the U.S. Air Force and
was stationed in Japan during the Korean War; he married Donna
Bollman on August 9, 1953 and they settled in North Chicago;
and
WHEREAS, Van Cybulski worked as a skilled tradesman,
pattern maker, and machinist for over 40 years; he spent the
last 20 years of his career working in the science department
of Lake Forest College before retiring in 1996; and
WHEREAS, After retirement, Van Cybulski and his wife bought
a home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona; he attended Our Lady of
the Lake Catholic Church and was a member of the Elks, Eagles,
Moose, American Legion, and Knights of Columbus; he enjoyed an
active social life with his many friends; and

WHEREAS, Van Cybulski was preceded in death by his wife,
Donna; his son, Walter Cybulski; his parents; his brother,
Bogdon Tadeusz; and his sister, Zenia Killian; and
WHEREAS, Van Cybulski is survived by his daughter, Angela
S. Dubrovin (Victor); his sons, Mark A. and Van A. Cybulski
(Laurie Minns); five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
and two stepgrandchildren; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Van Cybulski, and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Van Cybulski as an expression of our
deepest sympathy.
