1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Leo Dean Miller of Mesa, Arizona, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on July 7, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Leo Miller was born at the farm in Danvers to | ||||||
6 | Harvey and Edith Kinzinger Miller on March 5, 1923; he married | ||||||
7 | Ailene Thomas on June 30, 1945; she resides in Mesa, Arizona; | ||||||
8 | and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Leo Miller farmed at the sesquicentennial family | ||||||
10 | farm and then retired to Arizona; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Leo Miller served on the Illinois Soybean Board | ||||||
12 | from 1989 until 1995; he was a member of the National Society | ||||||
13 | of the Sons of the American Revolution and was a lifelong | ||||||
14 | member of the North Danvers Mennonite Church; he played with | ||||||
15 | the Danvers Town Band for 75 years; and

16 | WHEREAS, Leo Miller was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
17 | and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Leo Miller is also survived by his daughters, | ||||||
19 | Karla S. Miller and Brenda A. Miller; and his sisters, Grace | ||||||
20 | Keigham and Dorothy Haeffele; therefore, be it

2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
3 | Leo Dean Miller and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
4 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
5 | further

6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented to the family of Leo Miller as an expression of our | ||||||
8 | deepest sympathy.
