2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Edward A. C. Streed of Waukegan, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on May 28, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Edward Streed was born in Waukegan to Edwin and | ||||||
6 | Elizabeth Streed on May 17, 1928; he attended Glen Flora | ||||||
7 | Elementary School and Waukegan Township High School; he served | ||||||
8 | in the United States Air Force as a meteorologist in Alaska, | ||||||
9 | retiring with the rank of major; he earned his bachelor's and | ||||||
10 | master's degrees in civil engineering from the University of | ||||||
11 | Illinois; he married Mary Frances Patterson in Indianapolis in | ||||||
12 | 1957; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Edward Streed worked for the Lake County Highway | ||||||
14 | Department for 32 years, 12 of which he served as | ||||||
15 | superintendent; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Edward Streed was a lifelong member of the First | ||||||
17 | United Methodist Church of Waukegan; his pastimes included | ||||||
18 | playing golf at the Bonnie Brook Golf Course, playing handball | ||||||
19 | at the YMCA, and amateur photography; he loved spending time | ||||||
20 | with his grandchildren, and his family was his greatest joy; | ||||||

1 | WHEREAS, Edward Streed was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
2 | and his sister, Betty Klema; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Edward Streed is survived by his wife of 61 years, | ||||||
4 | Mary Fran; his children, Karen Streed, Laurie (Daniel) Coad, | ||||||
5 | Sara (Jeff) Dick, and Jim (Chris) Streed; eight grandchildren; | ||||||
6 | four great-grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Jack Patterson; | ||||||
7 | and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

8 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
9 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
10 | Edward A. C. Streed, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
11 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
12 | further

13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
14 | presented to the family of Edward Streed as an expression of | ||||||
15 | our deepest sympathy.
