SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kathryn Sue "Kathy" Stafford of
4Jacksonville, who passed away on May 25, 2018; and
5 WHEREAS, Kathy Stafford was born in Joplin, Missouri to
6Paul and Lola Baker on February 24, 1949; she graduated from
7Wichita State University in 1972; she married Ed Stafford on
8December 31, 1981; and
9 WHEREAS, Kathy Stafford began teaching third grade in
10Garden City, Kansas; she then joined the Grolier publishing
11company; after settling in Jacksonville with Ed, she worked as
12a substitute teacher at Jacksonville High School and the
13Illinois School for the Visually Impaired; and
14 WHEREAS, Kathy Stafford was a life member and past
15president of the Passavant Area Hospital Auxiliary; she was
16president of the Illinois Hospital Association's Council on
17Volunteering; she was a Master Gardener and a member of
18Household Science and History Class; she was a 50-year member
19of Chapter CY of P.E.O.; she was very proud of her family; and
20 WHEREAS, Kathy Stafford was preceded in death by her
21husband, Ed; and

1 WHEREAS, Kathy Stafford is survived by her son, Lance
2Matthew (Heather) Stafford; her granddaughters, Charlotte and
3Lillian Stafford; her mother, Lola Baker; her sister, Sharon
4(Larry) Billingsley; her stepchildren, Beverly Bea (Steven
5Kent) Pahlmann, Roxanna Rae (Rod) Hollenstine, and Edward
6Andrew (Demetria) Stafford; her in-laws, Nancy (Tom) Cooney and
7Don (Denise) Stafford; several nieces, nephews, and
8grandchildren; and one great-grandson; therefore, be it
9 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Kathryn Sue "Kathy" Stafford, and extend our sincere
12condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
13her; and be it further
14 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Kathy Stafford as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
