2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Kathryn Sue "Kathy" Stafford of | ||||||
4 | Jacksonville, who passed away on May 25, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Kathy Stafford was born in Joplin, Missouri to | ||||||
6 | Paul and Lola Baker on February 24, 1949; she graduated from | ||||||
7 | Wichita State University in 1972; she married Ed Stafford on | ||||||
8 | December 31, 1981; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Kathy Stafford began teaching third grade in | ||||||
10 | Garden City, Kansas; she then joined the Grolier publishing | ||||||
11 | company; after settling in Jacksonville with Ed, she worked as | ||||||
12 | a substitute teacher at Jacksonville High School and the | ||||||
13 | Illinois School for the Visually Impaired; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Kathy Stafford was a life member and past | ||||||
15 | president of the Passavant Area Hospital Auxiliary; she was | ||||||
16 | president of the Illinois Hospital Association's Council on | ||||||
17 | Volunteering; she was a Master Gardener and a member of | ||||||
18 | Household Science and History Class; she was a 50-year member | ||||||
19 | of Chapter CY of P.E.O.; she was very proud of her family; and

20 | WHEREAS, Kathy Stafford was preceded in death by her | ||||||
21 | husband, Ed; and

1 | WHEREAS, Kathy Stafford is survived by her son, Lance | ||||||
2 | Matthew (Heather) Stafford; her granddaughters, Charlotte and | ||||||
3 | Lillian Stafford; her mother, Lola Baker; her sister, Sharon | ||||||
4 | (Larry) Billingsley; her stepchildren, Beverly Bea (Steven | ||||||
5 | Kent) Pahlmann, Roxanna Rae (Rod) Hollenstine, and Edward | ||||||
6 | Andrew (Demetria) Stafford; her in-laws, Nancy (Tom) Cooney and | ||||||
7 | Don (Denise) Stafford; several nieces, nephews, and | ||||||
8 | grandchildren; and one great-grandson; therefore, be it

9 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
10 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
11 | Kathryn Sue "Kathy" Stafford, and extend our sincere | ||||||
12 | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
13 | her; and be it further
