SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Charles R. Titus Sr. of Moline, who
passed away on May 26, 2018; and
WHEREAS, Charles Titus Sr. was born in Moline to D. Raymond
and Helen Burke Titus on August 25, 1930; he served in the
United States Army and was a Korean War veteran; he married
Donna Mortensen on February 4, 1961; and
WHEREAS, Charles Titus Sr. was self-employed and retired
from U-Haul after 32 years; he also worked alongside his wife
at Apple Valley Boarding Kennel, where he was often referred to
as "Grandpa"; and
WHEREAS, Charles Titus Sr. enjoyed socializing as a
business associate and was a workaholic; and
WHEREAS, Charles Titus Sr. was preceded in death by his
parents and his brother, Ron; and
WHEREAS, Charles Titus Sr. is survived by his wife, Donna;
his children, Debbie Eastwood, Judith Titus, and Charles Titus
Jr.; his grandchildren, Megan Eastwood, Andrew Eastwood, and
Mike Sides; and his adopted grandchildren, Kelsey and Claire

Hovey; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Charles R. Titus Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Charles Titus Sr. as an expression
of our deepest sympathy.
