SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Frances B. Petric of Mequon, Wisconsin,
who passed away on April 17, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Frances Petric was born in Waukegan to Frank and
Jennie (Jeray) Musich on February 12, 1917; and
WHEREAS, Frances Petric was a homemaker and an avid baker,
often baking potica and cookies for family, friends, and church
functions; she was a kind and cheerful mother and grandmother
who always put her children's interests ahead of her own; and
WHEREAS, Frances Petric was a member of St. Mary of the
Annunciation Church in Mundelein and a longtime member of the
former Mother of God Church in Waukegan; she was active in both
churches and was a member of St. Anne's Lodge in Waukegan; and
WHEREAS, Frances Petric was preceded in death by her
parents; her loving husband of 58 years, Frank; her two
sisters, Jeanne and Amelia; and her brothers, Frank, Albert,
and William; and
WHEREAS, Frances Petric is survived by her sons, Jim
(Karen) and Gary (Debbie); her daughter, Janet (Jim) Spoerke;

her six grandchildren, Steven (Mary Kathryn), Sara (Dan), Nick,
Katrina, Lauren, and Dan; her great-grandchild, Jonathan; and
her brother, Joseph (Virginia) Musick; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Frances B. Petric, and extend our sincere condolences to her
family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Frances Petric as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
