| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Charles John "Jack" Wightman of Hebron, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on April 15, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Jack Wightman was born in Waukegan to Charles and | ||||||
6 | Mildred (Riddell) Wightman on August 17, 1933; he graduated | ||||||
7 | from Northern Illinois University, where he played tenor sax in | ||||||
8 | the jazz band and later formed the Jack Wightman Orchestra; he | ||||||
9 | married Patricia Dixon at St. Patrick Church in McHenry on | ||||||
10 | August 5, 1961; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Jack Wightman spent 38 years in public education, | ||||||
12 | both as a teacher and administrator at Harrison, Alden-Hebron, | ||||||
13 | Newport, and Zion; he then became an Illinois/Wisconsin Real | ||||||
14 | Estate Broker; and

15 | WHEREAS, Jack Wightman was president of the McHenry County | ||||||
16 | Board of Realtors in 1993; he was a 20-year member and past | ||||||
17 | president of the Richmond Rotary Club, as well as a member of | ||||||
18 | the McHenry County Sportsmen's Association and the Illinois | ||||||
19 | State Rifle Association; he was an active member of St. Joseph | ||||||
20 | Church in Richmond, where he was a charter member of the | ||||||
21 | Knights of Columbus, a Finance Council Committee member, and a | ||||||
22 | Marriage Enrichment and Family Life coordinator; and

1 | WHEREAS, Jack Wightman enjoyed spending time with his | ||||||
2 | family in Wisconsin; he was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting | ||||||
3 | with his sons and grandsons; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Jack Wightman was preceded in death by his | ||||||
5 | parents; his sister, Sharon and her husband, Dudley McClain; | ||||||
6 | and his granddaughter, Cassondra Wightman; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Jack Wightman is survived by his wife of 56 years, | ||||||
8 | Patricia; his children, Patti (Wayne) Peisert, Craig (Tina) | ||||||
9 | Wightman, John Wightman, Charlie (Jodi) Wightman, and Donald | ||||||
10 | (Linda) Wightman; his grandchildren, Wyatt and Emitt Peisert, | ||||||
11 | Paige, Rylee (Kyle), Chriske, Jackson, and Sawyer Wightman, | ||||||
12 | Brittany (Ryan) Vos and C.J. Wightman, Colton Wightman, Amber | ||||||
13 | (Adrian) Matthews, and Ted and Cody Wightman; and his | ||||||
14 | great-grandson, Wesley Chriske; therefore, be it

15 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
16 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
17 | Charles John "Jack" Wightman, and extend our sincere | ||||||
18 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
19 | him; and be it further

20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
21 | presented to the family of Jack Wightman as an expression of |
