2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Glenn A. Wells of Rock Island, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on April 18, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Glenn Wells was born in Rock Island to Glenn | ||||||
6 | Thaddeus and Ruth Christine Weigand Wells on September 9, 1932; | ||||||
7 | he graduated from Alleman High School in Rock Island and | ||||||
8 | received his associate's degree in engineering and labor | ||||||
9 | relations from Black Hawk College; he served in the United | ||||||
10 | States Air Force and married Mary Helene Mart in Rock Island on | ||||||
11 | June 8, 1957; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Glenn Wells worked for many years at TriCity | ||||||
13 | Blueprint in Moline; he founded and retired from Quad City | ||||||
14 | Reprographics; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Glenn Wells was a member of St. Pius X Catholic | ||||||
16 | Church in Rock Island, where he served as a Eucharistic | ||||||
17 | Minister; he was a member and former Grand Knight of Allouez | ||||||
18 | Council 658, Knights of Columbus and Father Edward J. Bader | ||||||
19 | Assembly Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, where he served as | ||||||
20 | Faithful Navigator; he was recognized as a Knight of Knights by | ||||||
21 | the Peoria Diocese Knights of Columbus; other memberships | ||||||
22 | include former president of the Moline Exchange Club, Moline |

1 | American Legion Post 246, Moose International, and Friends of | ||||||
2 | the Rock Island Library; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Glenn Wells was a volunteer for many years with | ||||||
4 | the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, John Deere Golf | ||||||
5 | Classic, Birdies for Charity, Junior Achievement, and the | ||||||
6 | Moline Activity Center, where he taught computer classes; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Glenn Wells and his wife welcomed several foster | ||||||
8 | children into their home; he loved spending time with his | ||||||
9 | family and friends; in his earlier years, he coached youth | ||||||
10 | basketball and sports teams, and enjoyed bowling in area | ||||||
11 | leagues; he was an avid golfer and Green Bay Packers fan; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Glenn Wells was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
13 | his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dale and Loretta Mart; his | ||||||
14 | brothers-in-law, Raymond Welvaert, Francis "Bud" Fobert, and | ||||||
15 | Richard Guise; and his sister-in-law, Nellie Wells; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Glenn Wells is survived by his wife, Mary; his | ||||||
17 | children, Paul Wells, Lisa Wells, Laurie (Robert) Potratz, Mark | ||||||
18 | (Theresa) Wells, Kristy (Robert) Meyers, and David (Miranda) | ||||||
19 | Wells; his special daughter, Mary Bateman; his grandchildren, | ||||||
20 | Adam (Cara) Wells, Alec Wells, Alyssa Meyers, Hannah Meyers, | ||||||
21 | Meghan Wells, Nathan Wells, Jason Wells, and Grace Potratz; his | ||||||
22 | great-grandchildren, Clayton and Emmitt; his sisters, Shirley |

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
6 | Glenn A. Wells, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
7 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
8 | further

9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Glenn Wells as an expression of our | ||||||
11 | deepest sympathy.
