SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Frederick Lewis Guldin of Oak Park, who
passed away on August 15, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Frederick Guldin was born in Loves Park on
February 25, 1940; he served for 4 years in the United States
Navy; and
WHEREAS, Frederick Guldin worked as a switchman for Conrail
and Norfolk Southern railroads for 43 years; and
WHEREAS, Frederick Guldin enjoyed working on his home,
fishing, and spending weekends in the country with his family;
and
WHEREAS, Frederick Guldin was married to Lois (nee Norris)
for 40 years; he previously was married to Lois (nee Juravik)
Black; and
WHEREAS, Frederick Guldin was preceded in death by his
step-son, Robert Thivel; and
WHEREAS, Frederick Guldin is survived by his wife, Lois;
his children, Christine Busch, Jennifer (Harry) Forberg, and

Russell (Aimee) Guldin; his step-children, Linda (Peter)
Balderas, Lawrence (Marilyn) Thivel, Joseph Petruzelli, and
Barbara (Bruce) Kneeland; 17 grandchildren; and 7
great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Frederick Lewis Guldin, and extend our sincere condolences to
his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Frederick Guldin as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
