2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of John L. Wilson of Caseyville, formerly of | ||||||
4 | Washington Park, who passed away on April 11, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, John Wilson was born in East St. Louis to John L. | ||||||
6 | and Orianna (Colona) Wilson on March 15, 1948; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, John Wilson was a veteran of the United States | ||||||
8 | Army; he retired form Pennsylvania Railroad/Rose Lake Yards as | ||||||
9 | a railroad car repairman; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, John Wilson was a former President of Carmans | ||||||
11 | Local 2037, Transport Workers Union of America; he was an | ||||||
12 | active citizen of St. Clair County, where he was a former | ||||||
13 | member and President of the Hollywood Heights Fire Protection | ||||||
14 | District, the Democratic Precinct Committeeman of Precinct #1, | ||||||
15 | the Sergeant at Arms for the St. Clair County Democratic Party, | ||||||
16 | the former Police Commissioner, the Chairman of the Zoning and | ||||||
17 | Planning Commission, and the Vice President of the Police | ||||||
18 | Pension Board; he was a member of the St. Clair Masonic Lodge | ||||||
19 | #24, Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Southern IL, Ainad Temple, | ||||||
20 | a member of the O'Fallon Sportsmen's Club, a member of the | ||||||
21 | American Legion Post 53, and a Caseyville Township Trustee; and

1 | WHEREAS, John Wilson was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
2 | his son, Kevin John Wilson; his sisters, Janice Penn and | ||||||
3 | Kathleen Waligorski; his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Waligorski | ||||||
4 | and Walter Miller; and his beloved dog, Odie Boy; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, John Wilson is survived by his daughter, Kristin | ||||||
6 | L. (G.W.) Scott Jr.; his grandchildren, Brianna, Brooke, | ||||||
7 | Braelynn, and Kevin Scott; his former wife, Sheila (Dalton) | ||||||
8 | Berry; his sister, Dolores "Dee Dee" Miller; his nieces and | ||||||
9 | nephews, Andy Penn, Tracy Jenkins, Dan Penn, Skip Miller, and | ||||||
10 | Kristopher Waligorski; his aunt, Shirley Feegle; his cousins, | ||||||
11 | Pete Hoffman, Jim Lemansky, Tom Werciak, Erich Feegle, Sheryl | ||||||
12 | Rhodes, Kurt Feegle, Ron Franklin, and Jim Coppotelli; and his | ||||||
13 | great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many dear friends; | ||||||

15 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
16 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
17 | John L. Wilson and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
18 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
