2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Robert L. Tobey of Milan, who passed away | ||||||
4 | on April 1, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Robert Tobey was born in Moline to Donald and | ||||||
6 | Helen Gale Tobey on August 30, 1936; he served his country as | ||||||
7 | in the United States Marine Corps; he married Carol A. Creger | ||||||
8 | in Viola on October 12, 1957; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Robert Tobey worked as a supervisor at Oscar Mayer | ||||||
10 | in Davenport for 37 years; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Robert Tobey was a member of the First | ||||||
12 | Presbyterian Church in Milan, where he enjoyed attending the | ||||||
13 | men's breakfasts every Tuesday; he was also a member of the | ||||||
14 | Rock Island Moose Lodge No. 190 and was a past member of the | ||||||
15 | Rock Island Conservation Club on Big Island; he enjoyed | ||||||
16 | wintering in Texas and traveling; he was an avid outdoorsman, | ||||||
17 | who enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and sport shooting; he | ||||||
18 | was a proud supporter of the United States military; and

19 | WHEREAS, Robert Tobey was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
20 | and his brother, Donald Tobey Jr.; and

1 | WHEREAS, Robert Tobey is survived by his wife, Carol; his | ||||||
2 | children, Steven R. (husband, Tony Luna) Tobey and Jeanne L. | ||||||
3 | (husband, Shannon Spence) Tobey; and his half-brother, Robert | ||||||
4 | (Mary Lou) Ries; therefore, be it

5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
7 | Robert L. Tobey and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
8 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
9 | further

10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Robert Tobey as an expression of our | ||||||
