1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of James "Jim" F. Leach of Chesterfield, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on February 18, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Jim Leach was born in Chesterfield to Howard A. | ||||||
6 | and Anna May (Rigsbey) Leach on July 8, 1934; he graduated from | ||||||
7 | Carlinville High School in 1952 and attended the University of | ||||||
8 | Illinois for two years; he proudly served in the United States | ||||||
9 | Army from 1957 until 1959; he married Karen Stahl in Palmyra on | ||||||
10 | April 29, 1972; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Jim Leach farmed in Chesterfield with his father | ||||||
12 | and uncle and retired in 2008; he then enjoyed his paper route | ||||||
13 | and delivered the Alton Telegraph for over ten years; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Jim Leach enjoyed camping, gardening, watching | ||||||
15 | Western movies, and rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals; he was | ||||||
16 | also loyal to all of the sports teams at the University of | ||||||
17 | Illinois and followed them with great enthusiasm; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Jim Leach was preceded in death by his parents and | ||||||
19 | his brother, Robert A. Leach; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Jim Leach is survived by his wife, Karen; and his |

1 | daughters, Stephanie (Chris) Edwards and Marcie (Steve) Adams; | ||||||
2 | therefore, be it

3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
5 | James F. "Jim" Leach and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
6 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
7 | further
| ||||||
8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
9 | presented to the family of Jim Leach as an expression of our | ||||||
10 | deepest sympathy.
