SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joseph C. Pyatt, of Alton, who passed
4away on February 24, 2018; and
5 WHEREAS, Joseph Pyatt was born in St. Louis to Earl and
6Olivia (Barbara) Pyatt on October 13, 1923; during World War
7II, he served as an airplane mechanic in the Pacific Theater
8and as a staff sergeant with the United States Marine Corp; he
9married Louise Hook on February 7, 1947; and
10 WHEREAS, Joseph Pyatt worked as a manager for Braun
11Automotive, later known as AID Inc., in Alton; he retired from
12St. Peters Hardware in Alton at the age of 89; and
13 WHEREAS, Joseph Pyatt was a member of St. Mary's Catholic
14Church, a fourth degree Knights of Columbus, where he was a
15past faithful navigator; he was a part of the group who started
16the Saint Vincent DePaul Society at St. Mary's and was an
17active member of the East End Improvement Association; and
18 WHEREAS, Joseph Pyatt was preceded in death by his parents;
19his wife, Louise; his son, Greg Pyatt; and his granddaughter,
20Melissa Mcelyea; and

1 WHEREAS, Joseph Pyatt is survived by his daughter, Tina
2(Dennis) Murphy; his grandchildren, Bradley (April Burch)
3Pyatt, Mindy (Glen) Mcelyea, Megan (Cliff) Judy, and Amanda
4Murphy; and his ten great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
5 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Joseph C. Pyatt and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Joseph Pyatt as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
