2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Joseph C. Pyatt, of Alton, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on February 24, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Joseph Pyatt was born in St. Louis to Earl and | ||||||
6 | Olivia (Barbara) Pyatt on October 13, 1923; during World War | ||||||
7 | II, he served as an airplane mechanic in the Pacific Theater | ||||||
8 | and as a staff sergeant with the United States Marine Corp; he | ||||||
9 | married Louise Hook on February 7, 1947; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Joseph Pyatt worked as a manager for Braun | ||||||
11 | Automotive, later known as AID Inc., in Alton; he retired from | ||||||
12 | St. Peters Hardware in Alton at the age of 89; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Joseph Pyatt was a member of St. Mary's Catholic | ||||||
14 | Church, a fourth degree Knights of Columbus, where he was a | ||||||
15 | past faithful navigator; he was a part of the group who started | ||||||
16 | the Saint Vincent DePaul Society at St. Mary's and was an | ||||||
17 | active member of the East End Improvement Association; and

18 | WHEREAS, Joseph Pyatt was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
19 | his wife, Louise; his son, Greg Pyatt; and his granddaughter, | ||||||
20 | Melissa Mcelyea; and

1 | WHEREAS, Joseph Pyatt is survived by his daughter, Tina | ||||||
2 | (Dennis) Murphy; his grandchildren, Bradley (April Burch) | ||||||
3 | Pyatt, Mindy (Glen) Mcelyea, Megan (Cliff) Judy, and Amanda | ||||||
4 | Murphy; and his ten great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| ||||||
5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
7 | Joseph C. Pyatt and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
8 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
9 | further

10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Joseph Pyatt as an expression of our | ||||||
12 | deepest sympathy.
