2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Corey Martell Butler, who passed away on | ||||||
4 | January 18, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Corey Butler was born to Tamara and Robert Butler | ||||||
6 | on April 24, 1991; affectionately known to his family as | ||||||
7 | "Coco," he attended elementary and high school at Proviso Area | ||||||
8 | Exceptional Children (P.A.E.C.); he graduated from high school | ||||||
9 | in 2013; after graduation, he attended Sequin Day Program; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Corey Butler attended White Pines Ranch Camp for | ||||||
11 | one week every year; he also attended Camp Sequin for one week | ||||||
12 | every year; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Corey Butler loved music, dancing, and playing | ||||||
14 | video games; he enjoyed spending time with his two best | ||||||
15 | friends, Jason and Camron, and watching wrestling with his | ||||||
16 | nephew, Troy; he enjoyed going to family gatherings and | ||||||
17 | parties; he enjoyed his life to the fullest; and

18 | WHEREAS, Corey Butler was preceded in death by his father; | ||||||
19 | his sister, Tanisha Butler; and his grandmothers, Diane | ||||||
20 | Buchanan and Alice Butler; and

1 | WHEREAS, Corey Butler is survived by his mother; his | ||||||
2 | brothers, Michael and Robert; his sisters, Courtney and Tamira; | ||||||
3 | his grandfather, Frank; his three nephews and four nieces; his | ||||||
4 | many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and his family at the | ||||||
5 | Sequin Day Program, The Answer Inc. and the Special Olympics; | ||||||
6 | therefore, be it

7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
9 | Corey Martell Butler and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
10 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
11 | further

12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
