2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Mary Bridget Cadigan, who passed away on | ||||||
4 | July 19, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Mary Cadigan was raised on the South Side of | ||||||
6 | Chicago; she graduated from Saint Margaret of Scotland Grammar | ||||||
7 | School in 1945 and Longwood Academy in 1949; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, In 1960, Mary Cadigan and her husband moved to | ||||||
9 | Arlington Heights, where they raised their family and were | ||||||
10 | active members of Saint James Parish for 49 years; they moved | ||||||
11 | to the Resurrection Retirement Community in 2009; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Mary Cadigan had a lifelong devotion to care of | ||||||
13 | the homeless and worked for many years as a volunteer for | ||||||
14 | homeless assistance groups, including Saint James Church, the | ||||||
15 | People's Church in Uptown, Chicago, and the Hope Center in | ||||||
16 | Palatine, where she was a member of the Board; she was a | ||||||
17 | founding member of the Hope Center and was named Outstanding | ||||||
18 | Community Member and Volunteer in 2006; and

19 | WHEREAS, Mary Cadigan was the wife of William J. Cadigan; | ||||||
20 | the mother of Mary Clare (Patrick Lynch), Catharine M. (Mark | ||||||
21 | Ostermann), Anne T. (Michael Gaziano), Sheila E., William J. |

1 | (Beth Wood), and Eileen P. (Raphael Brasseur); the loving Nana | ||||||
2 | of Michaela, Dante, and Liam Gaziano, Isla and Terra Brazier, | ||||||
3 | Joey Lynch, Cecilia and Nadia Brasseur, and Billy Cadigan; the | ||||||
4 | dear sister of Martin Connolly (Nancy), Rita (the late John) | ||||||
5 | McNally, Kathleen (the late Donald) Lux, Michael (Nancy) | ||||||
6 | Connolly, the late Eleanor (Michael) Brennan, and the late | ||||||
7 | Betty (Robert) Wulf; the daughter of Bartley and Mary (nee | ||||||
8 | Finnegan) Connolly; and the loving niece, cousin, and aunt of | ||||||

11 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her | ||||||
12 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Mary Bridget Cadigan; | ||||||
13 | and be it further
