| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Calvin Bland, who passed away on December | ||||||
| 4 | 8, 2017; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Calvin Bland was born on July 6, 1948; he was | ||||||
| 6 | educated at De La Salle High School; he then earned a bachelor | ||||||
| 7 | of arts and a bachelor of science at Eastern New Mexico | ||||||
| 8 | University; he also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal | ||||||
| 9 | Justice from the University of Texas at El Paso and attended | ||||||
| 10 | Lewis University College of Law; he became a paralegal; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Calvin Bland loved chess and national wildlife; he | ||||||
| 12 | was a member of the National Rifle Association; he was an avid | ||||||
| 13 | traveler and went to London, Paris, Spain, Portugal, Amsterdam, | ||||||
| 14 | Germany, the Bahamas, and many other places; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Calvin Bland is survived by his beloved wife of 32 | ||||||
| 16 | years, Renee; his children; his grandchildren; his | ||||||
| 17 | great-grandchildren; his sisters and brother; and his nieces, | ||||||
| 18 | nephews, aunts, and uncles; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 20 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 21 | Calvin Bland and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | ||||||

| 1 | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 2 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 3 | presented to the family of Calvin Bland as an expression of our | ||||||
