2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Virginia Rhodus of Carlinville, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on December 2, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Virginia Rhodus was born in Dayton, Ohio to Ellen | ||||||
6 | Johnston on August 5, 1942; she graduated from Berea Community | ||||||
7 | High School in Berea, Kentucky in 1961; she earned her | ||||||
8 | associate's degree from a business college in Lexington, | ||||||
9 | Kentucky and later attended Mid-Continent Baptist College in | ||||||
10 | Mayfield, Kentucky; she married Ronald Rhodus in Lexington, | ||||||
11 | Kentucky on March 28, 1962; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Virginia Rhodus enjoyed the pastoral ministry and | ||||||
13 | served alongside her husband; she was a gifted Bible teacher | ||||||
14 | and a member of Cross Church; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Virginia Rhodus enjoyed attending church, cooking | ||||||
16 | for her family, and making others feel blessed and happy; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Virginia Rhodus is survived by her husband, | ||||||
18 | Ronald; her mother; her daughters, Fonda (Jamie) Newton and | ||||||
19 | Rhonnie (Ron) Schaaff; her son, Tim (Kathi) Rhodus; her | ||||||
20 | granddaughters, Lisa North, Lorra North, Anna Rhodus, and | ||||||
21 | Cassie Beckert; her grandsons, Trevor Rhodus, Andy Beckert, and |

1 | Derik Beckert; and her eight great-grandchildren; therefore, | ||||||
2 | be it

3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
5 | Virgina Rhodus and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
6 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
7 | further

8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
9 | presented to the family of Virginia Rhodus as an expression of | ||||||
10 | our deepest sympathy.
