| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Raymond A. "Ray" Staskewich; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Ray Staskewich graduated from Waukegan High | ||||||
5 | School in 1942; he served in the United States Army during | ||||||
6 | World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart; he graduated from | ||||||
7 | DePaul University in 1951; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Ray Staskewich was a coach and physical education | ||||||
9 | teacher in North Chicago at North School and Novak King for 32 | ||||||
10 | years and could not go anywhere in the area without a former | ||||||
11 | student stopping him to say hello to "Coach"; during the | ||||||
12 | summer, he worked as a security guard for Abbott Laboratories; | ||||||
13 | and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Ray Staskewich was a member of St. Anastasia | ||||||
15 | Catholic Church for 58 years; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Ray Staskewich loved to play golf, watch sports, | ||||||
17 | spend time with his family, and talk about his time in the | ||||||
18 | service and as a teacher; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Ray Staskewich is survived by his wife of 68 | ||||||
20 | years, Carol; his daughter, Joyce Meuth; his son, Robert; his |

1 | grandchildren, Carol and Heidi Meuth and Amanda and Christina | ||||||
2 | Staskewich; his brother, William Staskewich Jr. (Marian); and | ||||||
3 | his nieces and nephews, Terry, Suzie, Ruth, and Jill; | ||||||
4 | therefore, be it

5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
7 | Raymond A. "Ray" Staskewich, and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
8 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
9 | it further
| ||||||
10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Ray Staskewich as an expression of | ||||||
12 | our deepest sympathy.
