SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Janet T. Collins of Chicago and
Clearwater, Florida, who passed away on November 28, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Janet Collins was an employee of the Lake County
Sheriff's Office and retired from the Metra Police Force after
more than 30 years of service as a Senior Investigator; and
WHEREAS, Janet Collins was a member of the Delta Star Board
of Directors and a lifelong member of St. Demetrios Greek
Orthodox Church; and
WHEREAS, Janet Collins was a restaurant connoisseur and an
avid fan of the Chicago Cubs; she enjoyed spending time with
her family and many close friends; and
WHEREAS, Janet Collins was the daughter of the late Georgia
(Christakis) and James Kallianis; the sister of Tulie (Charles)
Yessaian, John Collins, and the late Peter Collins and Paul
Collins; the beloved aunt of Elaina, J.D., Christina, Jay,
Matthew, Chuckie, Georganna, Betsy, Felicia, Tammy, Jennifer,
and the late George; the loving cousin of Nick Nicketakis,
Trudy Grisham, and Voula Karambelas; the beloved godmother of
Katy, Morgan, and the late Tommy; the great-aunt to many;

therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Janet T. Collins and extend our sincere condolences to her
family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Janet Collins as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
