SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Janet T. Collins of Chicago and
4Clearwater, Florida, who passed away on November 28, 2017; and
5 WHEREAS, Janet Collins was an employee of the Lake County
6Sheriff's Office and retired from the Metra Police Force after
7more than 30 years of service as a Senior Investigator; and
8 WHEREAS, Janet Collins was a member of the Delta Star Board
9of Directors and a lifelong member of St. Demetrios Greek
10Orthodox Church; and
11 WHEREAS, Janet Collins was a restaurant connoisseur and an
12avid fan of the Chicago Cubs; she enjoyed spending time with
13her family and many close friends; and
14 WHEREAS, Janet Collins was the daughter of the late Georgia
15(Christakis) and James Kallianis; the sister of Tulie (Charles)
16Yessaian, John Collins, and the late Peter Collins and Paul
17Collins; the beloved aunt of Elaina, J.D., Christina, Jay,
18Matthew, Chuckie, Georganna, Betsy, Felicia, Tammy, Jennifer,
19and the late George; the loving cousin of Nick Nicketakis,
20Trudy Grisham, and Voula Karambelas; the beloved godmother of
21Katy, Morgan, and the late Tommy; the great-aunt to many;

2 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Janet T. Collins and extend our sincere condolences to her
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
6further
7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Janet Collins as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
