2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Ronald Joseph "Ron" Tucker of | ||||||
4 | Springfield, who passed away on April 30, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Ron Tucker was born in Springfield to Joseph B. | ||||||
6 | and Mary Agnes Marcella Morris Tucker on September 1, 1943; he | ||||||
7 | was a lifelong Springfield resident; he graduated from | ||||||
8 | Springfield High School; while in high school, he was employed | ||||||
9 | by Liquid Carbonic, a division of General Dynamics; he served | ||||||
10 | in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal during the Vietnam | ||||||
11 | Era; he attended Lincoln Land Community College and Illinois | ||||||
12 | Business College; he married Ann L. Pearson in Bloomington on | ||||||
13 | June 22, 1968; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Ron Tucker was employed by the State of Illinois | ||||||
15 | in various departments from 1969 until his retirement from the | ||||||
16 | Illinois Secretary of State, Department of Police in 2002; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Ron Tucker was a member of several organizations, | ||||||
18 | including the Island Bay Yacht Club, the Springfield Lake Shore | ||||||
19 | Improvement Association, American Legion Post 32, the Forty and | ||||||
20 | Eight, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 15, and the Pleasant | ||||||
21 | Plains Historical Society; and

1 | WHEREAS, Ron enjoyed boating, fishing, and spending time | ||||||
2 | with his family, especially his grandchildren; he took up | ||||||
3 | golfing, excelled at the sport, coached others, and was a | ||||||
4 | starter at the Lincoln Greens Golf Course for several years; he | ||||||
5 | also enjoyed his annual vacation with friends and his entire | ||||||
6 | family on Sanibel Island, Florida; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Ron Tucker was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
8 | and his sister, Theresa Stamm; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Ron Tucker is survived by his wife, Ann Tucker; | ||||||
10 | his children, Kimberly (Tim) O'Connor, Rob (Sue) Tucker, | ||||||
11 | Christie (Chris) Jones, and Scott (Sarah) Tucker; his | ||||||
12 | grandchildren, Maille O'Connor, Rian O'Connor, Aidan O'Connor, | ||||||
13 | Kylie Tucker, Delaney Tucker, Brayden Tucker, Kaelyn Jones, | ||||||
14 | Allie Jones, Kinley Tucker, Laiken Tucker, and Kannon Tucker; | ||||||
15 | his brother, Kevin (Marie) Tucker; his aunt, Stevie Mclaughlin; | ||||||
16 | and several nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
| ||||||
17 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
18 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
19 | Ronald Joseph "Ron" Tucker and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
20 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
21 | it further

22 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
