SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James R. Dunn Jr. of Bloomington, who
4passed away on March 7, 2020; and
5 WHEREAS, James Dunn Jr. was born in Bloomington to James R.
6and Martha (Englejohn) Dunn Sr. on December 20, 1929; he served
7in the U.S. Air Force; he married Letty Phillippe in
8Bloomington on April 17, 1976; and
9 WHEREAS, James Dunn Jr. worked in commercial sales with The
10Pantagraph for 30 years; and
11 WHEREAS, James Dunn Jr. was a member of Trinity Lutheran
12Church in Bloomington and a member of the American Legion Carl
13Martin Post #635 in Normal; he ran the Anglers Club; he enjoyed
14traveling, playing golf at the Highland Park Golf Course in
15Bloomington, and skating at the Four Seasons; and
16 WHEREAS, James Dunn Jr. was preceded in death by his
17parents; his wife, Letty; and his sister, Mary Ellen Winstead;
18and
19 WHEREAS, James Dunn Jr. is survived by his stepchildren,
20Maribelle (John) Waters, Neva Jane Wert, and Edwin Jeffrey

1(Marybeth) Skinner; his step-grandchildren, Letty (David)
2Driscoll, Brian (Sammy Jo) Wert, Maggie (Brad) Clark, and
3McKinsey (Pierce) Furrow; his step-great-grandchildren,
4Blaike, Jackson, Maddox, Adelaide, Cole, and Kira; his
5brother-in-law, Bill Winstead; and his nephews, Ron Winstead
6and Tom (Jeanna) Winstead; therefore, be it
7 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9James R. Dunn Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
12 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of James Dunn Jr. as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
