SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Eduardo M. "Eddie" Ramos of Silvis,
4who passed away on July 5, 2022; and
5 WHEREAS, Eduardo Ramos was born to Benito and Natalia
6(Terronez) Ramos in Moline on June 9, 1948; he graduated from
7Alleman High School in 1966; he served as a mechanic in the
8U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict; he married Rita
9Gierlus; he later married Charlotte Neal in Rock Island in
101985; and
11 WHEREAS, Eduardo Ramos had worked at Oscar Mayer in
12Davenport; he retired as a brick layer/mason working for his
13best friend, Jim Braet; and
14 WHEREAS, Eduardo Ramos was a member of the Mexican
15American Veterans Association (MAVA); and
16 WHEREAS, Eduardo Ramos enjoyed fishing, shooting
17toothpicks, watching Westerns, and playing pool; he also
18enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially
19his brother, Nicholas Ramos, and his friend, Jim Braet; and
20 WHEREAS, Eduardo Ramos was preceded in death by his

1parents and brothers, Raymond Hernandez, Fernando Ramos, David
2Ramos, and Nicholas Ramos; and
3 WHEREAS, Eduardo Ramos is survived by his wife, Charlotte
4Ramos; his children, Kimberly (Manuel) Collyer, Michael
5(Tafline) Ramos, Dawn Menestrina, Joseph Ramos, and Tony
6Menestrina; his 17 grandchildren; his four
7great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Mary "Goodie" Ramos,
8Joseph "Ralph" (Dawn) Ramos, Rudolph "Rudy" (Jackie) Ramos,
9Bernarda "Nini" (Daniel) Lefever, Magdalena "Maggie" (Kelly)
10Meguffy, and Eva Ramos; therefore, be it
11 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Eduardo M. "Eddie" Ramos and extend our sincere condolences to
14his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
16 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Eduardo Ramos as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
