| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Charles Richard "Charlie" Luebke of | ||||||
4 | Moline, who passed away on October 30, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Charles Luebke was born in Keokuk, Iowa to Charles | ||||||
6 | F. and Lydia Luebke on September 22, 1930; he graduated from | ||||||
7 | Keokuk High School and served as an air policeman in the United | ||||||
8 | States Air Force from December of 1950 to December of 1954; he | ||||||
9 | married Shirley J. White at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline | ||||||
10 | on June 1, 1952 and they lived in Lake Charles, Louisiana until | ||||||
11 | December of 1955, when they settled in Moline; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Charles Luebke worked for the McLaughlin Body | ||||||
13 | Company in Moline for five years; he owned Avenue Rental Inc. | ||||||
14 | for 25 years until retiring in 1997 when he sold his business | ||||||
15 | to his daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Tom; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Charles Luebke attended First Lutheran Church in | ||||||
17 | Moline; he loved playing golf with his son, Chuck, and they had | ||||||
18 | many good times on the golf course with their golfing buddies; | ||||||
19 | he was also active in local stock car racing, sponsoring the | ||||||
20 | "Avenue Rental" car; and
| ||||||
21 | WHEREAS, Charles Luebke was preceded in death by his |

1 | parents; four sisters; and his daughter-in-law, Melody K. | ||||||
2 | Luebke; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Charles Luebke is survived by his wife of 65 | ||||||
4 | years, Shirley; his son, Charles S. "Chuck" (Caryn Rose); his | ||||||
5 | daughter, Tina L. (Tom) Voss; his grandchildren, Beth Luebke, | ||||||
6 | Kevin Luebke, and Caitlyn Gray; and four great-grandchildren; | ||||||
7 | therefore, be it

8 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
9 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
10 | Charles Richard "Charlie" Luebke, and extend our sincere | ||||||
11 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
12 | him; and be it further

13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
14 | presented to the family of Charles Luebke as an expression of | ||||||
15 | our deepest sympathy.
