| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Antioch Township Supervisor Steve Smouse, | ||||||
| 4 | who passed away on November 5, 2017; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Steve Smouse graduated from Antioch High School in | ||||||
| 6 | 1970 and attended Millikin University from 1970 to 1971; he | ||||||
| 7 | graduated Worsham College in 1978 with a degree in mortuary | ||||||
| 8 | science; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Steve Smouse served as Antioch Township | ||||||
| 10 | Supervisor since 1999 and a township trustee from 1997 to 1999; | ||||||
| 11 | and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Steve Smouse was president of the Antioch Hillside | ||||||
| 13 | Cemetery Association; he was a Rescue Squad Paramedic beginning | ||||||
| 14 | in 1992 through February 2013, continuing as licensed retired | ||||||
| 15 | member; he was a member of the Antioch Rotary Club from 1984 to | ||||||
| 16 | 2009 and a member of Friends of the Antioch Library; he was a | ||||||
| 17 | member of the Village of Antioch Planning Commission until 1992 | ||||||
| 18 | and a former member of the Village of Antioch Arbor Day | ||||||
| 19 | Committee; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Steve Smouse was a wonderful brother, husband, and | ||||||
| 21 | father; therefore, be it

| 1 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 3 | Antioch Township Supervisor Steve Smouse, and extend our | ||||||
| 4 | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||
| 5 | and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 7 | presented to the family of Steve Smouse as an expression of our | ||||||
| 8 | deepest sympathy.
