| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Geraldine "Gerald" Williams of North | ||||||
4 | Chicago, who passed away on October 27, 2010; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, She was born on September 27, 1954 in Clarksdale, | ||||||
6 | Mississippi; she attended Novak Elementary School and North | ||||||
7 | Chicago High School; she received her Bachelor's degree from | ||||||
8 | National University and her Master's degree in Education from | ||||||
9 | Xavier University; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, She was a first grade teacher for 34 years at | ||||||
11 | Forrestal Elementary School in North Chicago; she was a | ||||||
12 | faithful member of Christian Valley Missionary Baptist Church, | ||||||
13 | where she was a choir member, taught Sunday School, was the | ||||||
14 | YWMA Mission Leader, and held the position of church secretary | ||||||
15 | for many years; and

16 | WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her father, mother, | ||||||
17 | and brother; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Geraldine Williams is survived by her sisters, | ||||||
19 | Barbara and Flora; her brother, Henry; her brother-in-law, | ||||||
20 | Homer; her nephew, Donnell; as well as many cousins and | ||||||
21 | friends; therefore, be it

1 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
3 | her family and friends, the passing of Geraldine Williams; and | ||||||
4 | be it further

5 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
6 | presented to the family of Geraldine Williams as a symbol of | ||||||
7 | our sincere sympathy.
