SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Geraldine "Gerald" Williams of North
Chicago, who passed away on October 27, 2010; and
WHEREAS, She was born on September 27, 1954 in Clarksdale,
Mississippi; she attended Novak Elementary School and North
Chicago High School; she received her Bachelor's degree from
National University and her Master's degree in Education from
Xavier University; and
WHEREAS, She was a first grade teacher for 34 years at
Forrestal Elementary School in North Chicago; she was a
faithful member of Christian Valley Missionary Baptist Church,
where she was a choir member, taught Sunday School, was the
YWMA Mission Leader, and held the position of church secretary
for many years; and
WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her father, mother,
and brother; and
WHEREAS, Geraldine Williams is survived by her sisters,
Barbara and Flora; her brother, Henry; her brother-in-law,
Homer; her nephew, Donnell; as well as many cousins and
friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
her family and friends, the passing of Geraldine Williams; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Geraldine Williams as a symbol of
our sincere sympathy.
