SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Susan August of Waukegan, who passed away
4on August 13, 2010; and
5 WHEREAS, She was born September 15, 1937 in Oconomowoc,
6Wisconsin; she was a member of St. Anastasia Parish and a
7former member of St. Dismas Parish; she graduated from St.
8Therese Hospital School of Nursing in Waukegan in 1958, she was
9a member of St. Therese Alumni Association, the Lake County
10Nurse's Association, and the Catholic Nurse's Association; and
11 WHEREAS, She was also a volunteer at Kids Corner at the
12Lake County Court House and a volunteer with S.P.R.E.D., as
13well as being active in the Boy Scouts; as a Registered Nurse
14she was active in nursing in the county for many years, and
15retired from the Veteran's Administration Hospital of North
16Chicago; and
17 WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas
18August in 2002, with whom she was united in marriage in 1960;
19her parents, George Weege and Gertrude (nee Wagnitz) Weege; and
20her sister, Dolores; and
21 WHEREAS, Susan August is survived by her children, Peter

1(Mary Ellen) August, Katherine August, and Stephen (Carol)
2August; her grandchildren, Amanda, Kate, Rachel, Grace,
3Thomas, Maggie, and Daniel August; her numerous nieces and
4nephews; her caregiver, Donna Poblocka; her siblings, George
5(Frances) Weege, Edie (Gil) Walter, Judy Robbins, Ernie (Mary)
6Weege, Sandy (Jim) Pritzlaff, Wayne (Sue) Weege, Sally Clancy,
7Jim Weege, and Pat (Phyllis) Weege; therefore, be it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10her family and friends, the passing of Susan August; and be it
11further
12 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Susan August as a symbol of our
14sincere sympathy.
