2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Ralph Monroe Kick of Ringwood, who passed |
4 | | away on March 7, 2014; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Ralph Kick was born on May 5, 1920 in |
6 | | Libertyville; his parents were Horace J. Kick and Marie V. |
7 | | Larson; he married the love of his life, Beulah Steffen, in |
8 | | 1958; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, In October of 1943, Ralph Kick enlisted into the |
10 | | United States Navy "Seabees"; he served our country for 3 years |
11 | | and 4 months in the 42nd Naval Construction Battalion; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, In 1951, Ralph Kick started working at the Frank |
13 | | Hough Company in Libertyville; later, International Harvester |
14 | | bought the Hough Factory and Dresser bought the Harvester |
15 | | Plant; he retired after 36 years of service in 1986; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, Ralph Kick was a member of the Veterans of Foreign |
17 | | Wars Post 4600 in McHenry, American Legion Post 183 in Genoa |
18 | | City, and the McHenry Moose Lodge; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Ralph Kick was preceded in death by his wife, |
20 | | Beulah; and
