SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marshall "Marsh" E. LeSueur of Deerfield,
4who passed away on November 19, 2019; and
5 WHEREAS, Marshall LeSueur was born in Chattanooga,
6Tennessee to Marshall and Marguerite LeSueur; he enlisted in
7the Army in 1942 and served for three years during World War II
8in New Caledonia and the Philippines as a First Sergeant; he
9was awarded six medals for his service; and
10 WHEREAS, Marshall LeSueur attended Northwestern University
11Law School, earning his J.D. in 1950; he married Adrienne
12(Addie) in 1951; and
13 WHEREAS, After settling the family in Deerfield, Marshall
14LeSueur became active in the community; he served as Deerfield
15Police Commissioner and was a longtime member of St. Gregory's
16Church, serving on the vestry, as a warden, and as an
17Eucharistic Minister; and
18 WHEREAS, Marshall LeSueur was an incurable Francophile, a
19history buff, a competitive tennis player, and a skilled
20do-it-yourselfer and was extremely proud of his family; and

1 WHEREAS, Marshall LeSueur is survived by sons, Max, Dave
2(Dody), Steve (Karen), and Chris; daughter, Meg;
3grandchildren, Jake, Nia, Henry (Kat), Calvin, Eric
4(Elizabeth), Ian (Kristin), Christopher, Grace, Frankie, and
5Stephen; great-grandson, Benjamin; and a multitude of nephews,
6nieces, and their children; therefore, be it
7 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Marshall "Marsh" E. LeSueur and extend our sincere condolences
10to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
11it further
12 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Marshall LeSueur as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
