2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Robert "Bob" Blount of East Moline, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on February 14, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bob Blount was born to John and Margaret (Wills) | ||||||
6 | Blount in Brooklyn, New York on May 2, 1941; he served in the | ||||||
7 | U.S. Army First Calvary during the Vietnam War; he married | ||||||
8 | Ruth Groharing in Hampton on October 23, 1978; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Bob Blount retired from the John Deere Foundry | ||||||
10 | after 30 years of service; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Bob Blount was very competitive; he was an avid | ||||||
12 | bicyclist and participated in many events over the years; he | ||||||
13 | built and raced cars and boats, and he ran many biathlons and | ||||||
14 | triathlons; he enjoyed playing handball at the YMCA with his | ||||||
15 | friends and hiking in the country with his wife; and

16 | WHEREAS, Bob Blount was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
17 | and his sister, Linda Papandrea; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Bob Blount is survived by his wife, Ruth; his | ||||||
19 | children, Anne Blount, Janie Blount, and Brook (Lisa) Garman; | ||||||
20 | his grandchildren, Angelo Williams, Jaylen Frazier, and Alexia |

1 | Garman; and his siblings, Diane (Victor) Bast and Joe Blount; | ||||||
2 | therefore, be it

3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

5 | Robert "Bob" Blount and extend our sincere
condolences to his | ||||||
6 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
